Proposal:  24/7 telecommunications cell site.

Consultation deadline: 29.08.2025 - Any comments on the proposals should be submitted via the Shropshire Council Planning Portal before this date.

NB. Clive Parish Council has been granted an extension to the comments deadline, so will be submitting a response following their Sept meeting, so that the proposals can be considered formally at a public meeting.

Background

Clive Parish Council was approached by residents to investigate possible improvements to the poor and patchy mobile phone signal in the parish. This has led to discussions with Shropshire Council and Atlas Tower Group re. a possible communications mast within the parish. The proposed mast would rent space to different mobile network providers.

Proposed site

Initially several candidate sites were considered, but due to unviability, or lack of landowner interest, only one candidate site has been taken forward, which is referred to as candidate site 6. Please see PDF documents below for initial drawings and the gallery for photomontages of what the mast might look like from various viewpoints in the parish, as well as a map showing the revised location for candidate site 6 and the viewpoints of the photomontages.

NB. For the most up to date drawings, location maps, etc., please refer to the official planning application information, available via on the Shropshire Council Planning portal here: Reference:  25/02931/TEL

Community engagement

During the initial stages of this investigation the Parish Council has been provisionally in support of the proposal, but has been very keen to hear the views of residents before making any decisions. We have shared information and encouraged community feedback on the proposed mast online via this website and local social media, in print via the local newsletter and posters on notice boards, and encouraged parishioner attendance at Parish Council meetings. Atlas representatives attended the June Council meeting on Thurs 26th June to share information, listen to community feedback and answer questions from the community.

Atlas have also prepared a community survey to gather further feedback on the proposal.
