Update 23.06.2025 Atlas Tower Group to attend Parish Council meeting on June 26th

Background

Clive Parish Council has been approached by residents to investigate possible improvements to the poor and patchy mobile phone signal in the parish. This has led to discussions with Shropshire Council and Atlas Tower Group re. a possible communications mast within the parish. The proposed mast would rent space to different mobile network providers.

Current proposal

Initially several candidate sites were considered, but due to unviability, or lack of landowner interest, only one candidate site is now under consideration, which is referred to as candidate site 6. Please note that the location for candidate site 6 has changed slightly from the initial site put forward in the October 2024 slides from Atlas. We have now received some drawings of the proposal, photomontages of what the mast might look like from various viewpoints in the parish, as well as a map showing the revised location for candidate site 6 and the viewpoints of the photomontages. Please see below for the drawings PDF and the gallery for the map and photomontages.

NB. The drawings are yet to be approved by the landowner, so they may be subject to minor changes.

Community engagement - Share your views

During the initial stages of this investigation the Parish Council has been provisionally in support of the proposal, but has been very keen to hear the views of residents before making any decisions. We have shared information and encouraged community feedback on the proposed mast online via this website and local social media, in print via the local newsletter and posters on notice boards, and encouraged parishioner attendance at Parish Council meetings. Atlas representatives will be attending the June Council meeting on Thurs 26th June to share information, listen to community feedback and answer any questions you may have. We very much encourage as many residents as possible to join us on June 26th to share your thoughts with the PC and Atlas.

Atlas have also prepared a community survey to gather further feedback on the proposal, and we would encourage as many people as possible to share their views on this.
